They would make a weekend outing of the walk; arriving on Sunday, walking on Monday, then would shop and enjoy dinner before driving home. Family and friends looked forward each year to enjoying the vegetables he grew in his garden, especially the tomatoes and zucchini. He was an expert rose gardener. Mike married Mary, who was a nurse, and valued education. He encouraged his daughters to achieve higher education. His daughters took his advice, Margaret receiving a PhD and Michele a Masters Degree. He never met anyone who didn't become a friend. He was indeed loved by all.
