Mrs. Mildred Burgess Cantrell, 84, of Taylors died Monday, December 5, 2011 at Hospice of the Upstate in Anderson.

She was the loving and devoted wife to her late husband, J. Clyde Cantrell. Mildred was a longtime member of White Oak Baptist Church. She retired from Meyers-Arnold Department Store after 30 years as the personal shopper Anna Dale.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents Joseph M. and Maude Wigington Burgess, sisters, Olene Towe, Evelyn Schaler and brothers , James, Warren (Dub) and Broadus (Bo) Burgess.

Her family was by far the most important part of her life and their memories of her will be forever cherished.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Lynn Cantrell of Anderson; her granddaughter and husband, Paige and Chris Hardy of Clemson; sisters, Blanche Hannah, Gerone Carnes, Hilda Cooper (Duncan); and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 8th from 12:30 until 2:30 PM at The Mackey Mortuary, 311 Century Drive, followed by graveside services at three o'clock at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, SC with Dr. Dennis Tedder officiating.
