Mildred J. Ferrell, 81, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010. She was a native of Hertford NC and was a bookkeeper at Bank of Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Johnnie Morris Pike and Liler Mae Umphlett Pike. She is survived by her husband, Earle S. Ferrell; four step-children; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Lovie Godfrey, Nellie Clarke, and Bessie Jones. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.snellingsfuneralhome.com.
