Mildred J. Dyches

Pickens – Mildred Jones Dyches, 88, wife of the late Charles E. Dyches of Pickens, went home to be with the Lord Saturday morning, July 21, 2012.

Mrs. Dyches was born in Denmark, SC a daughter of the late L. S. and Mary Elizabeth Darnell Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of Pickens First Baptist Church where she was a member of the T.E.L. Sunday school class. Mrs. Dyches served as a primary Sunday school teacher for many years and also served, for many years, as treasurer of the Pickens County branch of The American Cancer Society. She also volunteered at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Pickens.

Survivors include her children Jimmy Dyches (Irene), Chip Dyches (Dee), Donna Underwood (Ben), Carol Adams (Kerry), and Angie Case (George) all of Pickens and Jane Williams (Ted) of Easley. Grandchildren include Kamryn and Charlesie Dyches, Jerry Underwood (Jennifer), Krissy Van Sligtenhorst (Corey), Candi Creech (Randy), Amanda Chapman (David), and Andrew, Matthew, and John Nolan Case and sixteen great grandchildren and a sister, Mary Sanders of Westchester, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dyches was preceded in death by sisters, Christine Harris, Margaret Zeigler and brother, L. S. Jones, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:45 PM Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Pickens First Baptist Church and funeral services will follow in the church sanctuary at 3 PM. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
