Milton D. Yarborough, 80, of 101 Lanford Road, Pauline, died Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 10, 1932, in Enoree, Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Lanham L. and Thelma Watson Yarborough.
Mr. Yarborough was retired from WSPA-TV after 37 years of service. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, served as deacon, Sunday School teacher, and congregational song director. A volunteer and former chief of the Glenn Springs Pauline Fire Department, he was also a U. S. Air Force veteran with two years service in Guam and also Puerto Rico. He graduated from Woodruff High School and attended Spartanburg Junior College.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 49 years, Charlene Pettit Yarborough; sister, Foye Y. Fowler of Greer; special sister-in-law, Irene P Casey of Pauline; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Monday, June 25, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Philadelphia Baptist Church, by the Rev. Joshua C. Jennings and the Rev. Charles M. Eaton. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church Family Life Center, PO Box 220, Pauline, SC 29374.
The family is at the home.
