Milton Gill Palmer, 85, of the 2600 block of Powell Circle, Chesapeake, VA, passed away February 9, 2011, in Virginia Beach, VA. A native of Salisbury, NC, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Elizabeth Palmer. He was a manager with Tomilson Plumbing Supply Company. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. Mr. Palmer is survived by his wife, Doris Burchfield Palmer; his son, Robert G. Palmer of Virginia Beach, VA; his daughter, Judy P. Carter and husband Marshall of Virginia Beach, VA; a step-daughter, Linda B. Cooper and husband Michael; a step-son, Robert Burchfield and wife Debra; two grandsons, Keith Carter and Curtis Carter; one step-granddaughter, Kristina Hill; and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Joan Palmer; his brother, Wilbur L. Palmer, Jr.; and his sister, Elizabeth P. Morris. A funeral service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel with Rev. Donald McLean officiating. The burial will be private.
