Minnie Lydick, 98, of Marquette, died Sunday morning, July 31, 2011 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming. She was born October 6, 1912, in Phoenix, Michigan, a daughter of the late John and Christina (Furno) Conda and was a lifelong Upper Peninsula resident. Minnie was employed for many years as a licensed practical nurse at a sanitarium in Hancock. She is survived by a son, Donald (Janet) Lydick of Milton, DE; four grandchildren, Yvonne Bailey, Michelle Arocho, Nicole Gilbert and Robert Heidrich; 7 great-grandchildren, Alyssa Huff, Ashley Kane, Devin Arocho, Kerri Bailey, Colleen Bailey, Brandon Gilbert, Cameron Gilbert and Gabriel Heidrich; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Yvonne Lydick Railey; siblings, Jim, Louis and Dominic Conda, Mary Petermann and Lorraine Young. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 12:10 p.m. at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Marquette with Rev. Jeff Johnson officiating assisted by her son, Deacon Don Lydick. A Funeral Mass will also be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Calumet with Rev. Abraham Mupparathara officiating and also assisted by Deacon Lydick. Interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Lake Superior Hospice Association at 914 W.
