Minnie (Amenta) Schneider Wesnieski, 87, of Vernon, beloved wife of the late Edwin Wesnieski, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 7, 2010. Born in East Hartford, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Desanzo) Amenta, she lived in Ellington and Vernon for most of her life. She was a member of the Golden Age Club, an avid bingo player and she loved to go fishing. She and her former husband, the late Walter Schneider, owned and operated Schneiders Farm Market for many years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Minnie is survived by her beloved sons, Wayne Schneider and his wife Maxine of Vernon and Mark Schneider and his fiancée Gale Godfrey of Vernon; five grandchildren; Carl, Brian and Todd Schneider, Melissa Babcock and Jessica Schneider; 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Brennan of Colchester; a brother, Paul Amenta of Glastonbury and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Minnie was predeceased by her son, Dean Schneider; a sister, Nancy Jankowski and a brother, James Amenta. Her family would like to thank all the staff at Vernon Manor for the wonderful care they gave to Minnie.
