Miranda Faith Berry ORANGE- Miranda Faith Berry, 12, of Orange, Massachusetts, passed away at her home on December 9, 2010, after a courageous 2 year battle with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer in children. Miranda Faith was born January 31, 1998 in Worcester, the cherished daughter of William Edward Berry Jr. and Grace Martha Amato Berry, and loving big sister to William (Liam) Edward Berry III. Beloved grandchild of William Edward Berry Sr. of New Salem, Sally Dunham Berry of Orange, and Peter and Grace DeAngelo Amato of Marlborough; great-grandchild of Arlene Stown Dunham of Royalston. Darling niece of David and Adam Berry of Orange; Marybeth Amato McNally and her husband David of North Grafton; Peter Amato and his wife Allison of Quincy; Sarah Jane Amato Allwaters, her Godmother and her husband, Kebble, of Leominster; and Godchild of Robert Ames of Petersham. Joyful cousin of David and Marissa McNally of North Grafton; Jack Amato of Quincy; and Ethan, Evan, and Aryanna Allwaters of Leominster. The delight of her many Great aunts and uncles. The number 1 devotee of Cody, her dog. Miranda Faith was a loyal member of Girl Scout Troop #110 of Central and Western Massachusetts. She loved learning and despite her many health challenges, attended Butterfield School every chance she could. She was the winner of Butterfield's National Geographic GeoBee in January, 2010. She proudly graduated from Butterfield in June, 2010 and began seventh grade at the Mahar Middle School in August. This past year Miranda Faith was named Junior Ambassador for "Why Me", an organization which offers love and support to children with cancer and their families. Her hobbies included writing, reading, drawing, all forms of arts and crafts, and collecting American Girl dolls, many of which were her faithful companions during her many hospital stays. Miranda Faith authored the recently published book, "The Battle of the Elements", and also wrote, produced, and directed a video presentation of the same name. Her positive attitude, courageous, and winning smile inspired "Miranda's Song", a vocal written and recorded by the local music group "Evenspeak". Soon after being diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, Miranda wrote her "Golden Promise" which she lived by: "I promise to stay strong and positive, never loose faith, or have doubt, never cry, worry, or give up, and fight hard to the very end." Bill, Grace, and Liam send their heartfelt gratitude to the hundreds of individuals and organizations who helped them through these difficult years. Your compassion will never be forgotten. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 12th from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 13th at 10:00AM at St. Mary's Church, 19 Congress Street, Orange, MA, with Fr. William Lunney officiating. Guests are asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Orange. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Lucy's Love Bus, Attn: Miranda's Miracle, 77 Macy Street, Amesbury, MA 01913 or to the Witty's Community Fund, 158 South Main Street, Orange, MA 01364.
