Monte T. Labash, 80, of Donora, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 8, 2011 in his home. A son of the late Samuel and Anna Mikula Labash, he was born in Donora on February 9, 1931. A lifelong resident of Donora, he was a member of the Covenant Christian Church of Belle Vernon and retired in 1993 as the manager of the State Store in Monessen. Monte was the owner and operator of the former Labash Market in Donora and served in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Marilyn Sosanko Labash, two daughters and one son-in-law, Roseann and Scott Palfrey of Colorado Springs, CO and Jacqueline McLain of Castle Rock, CO, three sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel and Angela Labash, Monte and Michelle Labash, all of Rostraver Twp. and Jason and Lori Labash of Castle Rock, CO, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lillian and Stan Musial of St. Louis, MO and Dorothy O'Lenic of the state of California, seven grandchildren, Amy Palfrey, Nina Baldwin, Cyndil Goulding, Chanelle Labash, Monte Labash III, Christian Labash and Tamlyn Labash and four great-grandchildren, Zachary Palfrey, Olivia and Horatio Martinez and Natalie Baldwin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Scott McLain, three sisters, Mary Adamusko, Helen Nagy and Ann Palm and a brother, William Labash. There will be no public visitation or funeral services. Interment will be in Charleroi Cemetery.
