MONTGOMERY SMITH North Port, Florida – Montgomery Cliff Smith Sr., 48, passed away March 23, 2010 at Morton Plant Hospital in Florida. Born in Oconee County he served as a Cpl. in the United States Marines during 1982-1986. He was an avid Clemson Tiger fan, was the 100th Heisman donor, a Kentucky Col., and attended Charlotte Harbor First Baptist Church in Florida. Survivors include wife, Allison Mativi Smith, Son, Montgomery C. Smith, Jr., brother Jimmy Ray Smith Jr., and wife Teresa of Westminster, sister Kathy Weston and husband Kenny of Leesburg, SC, grandmother Beulah Carver Phillips of Westminster and several nieces and nephews. Parents Jimmy Ray Smith Sr, and Bertie Carver Smith, brother Danny Ray Smith, maternal grandfather Bert Carver Sr, and paternal grandparents Paton and Ilene Smith precede him in death. A memorial service will be held 2 PM Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Charlotte Harbor First Baptist Church in Florida. Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday, March 29, 2010 at Calvary Church of God in Westminster. Burial will follow at First Baptist Cemetery in Westminster with Military Honors. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Sandifer Funeral Home in Westminster. The family is at the home of the brother, Jimmy Smith Jr., 106 Nardellas Circle, Westminster.
