Master Sgt. Billy Tom Brooks, 80, born in Gadsden, AL, Jan. 25, 1930, passed away Dec. 10, 2010. Tom was the son of the late John and Lydia Brooks. He was married to Michelle M. Brooks for 57 years, whom he married while stationed in France during his early military career. Tom retired from the U.S. Air Force after 30 years of service. He retired from Wright State University in Dayton, OH in 1992 and moved to Virginia Beach in 2007. He is survived by three daughters, Michelle Love, Martine Brooks, and Christine Myers; and one son, John Brooks and wife Jeaniece. He was predeceased by a daughter, Chantal Husman and is also survived by his son-in-law, Gary Husman. Tom was also survived by five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister, Margaret Mitchell; and a brother, Charles Brooks. A memorial service will be held on Sarturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
