Murice “Boochie” Muriel Criss, 81, of Fairmont, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2009 at Fairmont General Hospital .

She was born in Marion County on March 13, 1928 a daughter of the late Harry Brumage, Sr. and Clara Jones Brumage.

Mrs. Criss was preceded in death by her husband Casto Jim Criss in 1991.

She was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. In addition, she worked at Owens -Illinois Glass, Westinghouse Glass Plant and Ames Department Store. She loved taking care of her family, baking and cooking. Murice was an avid Bible reader and enjoyed watching the Christian Television Network.

She is survived by two children, her son, Harold Ray Criss of Morgantown and Betty Satterfield of Fairmont; a brother, Harry Brumage, Jr. and his wife Diane of White Rock; two sisters, Norma Jean Yost of Mannington and Mary Stone of Elkins; five very special grandchildren and their spouses, Deborah and David Stemple, Virginia and Ernest Stottlemire, Kim Pettis, Kassie Pettis and Kendall Pettis; several great grandchildren including Jeramie David Satterfield, John Allen Stemple and Heather Stottlemire and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Criss was preceded in death by her son-in-law, David Allen Satterfield; two sisters, Adrian Brady and Doris Haney; a brother, Charles Brumage and a brother-in-law, Pat Yost.

Friends may call at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont on Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm and Wednesday from 10am to 11am. Services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the funeral home with Pastor Rex Musgrove officiating.

Interment will follow at the Brumage Cemetery at Ice’s Run.
