Mustafa (Mickey) Mallas, 85, of Weirton, WV, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at his son Monty and daughter in law Nina's home. He was born October 6, 1926, in Hollidays Cove (Weirton. Mickey lived in Weirton for the past 85 years. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mickey served in the United States Army Air Force in World War II. He also worked in the National Steel Mill in Weirton for 36 years in the Strip Steel Electric Shop. In his earlier days, his hobby was racing late model stock and sprint cars at local race tracks for 14 years. Mickey served in many city and county government elected positions as Committeeman, Process Server, Justice of the Peace and Magistrate Judge for over 20 years. Mickey was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Janice E. Mallas on June 12, 2011; father, Ossman Mallas, mother, Daisy Mallas; sister, Evelyn Z. Burge and brother, James Mallas. Mickey is survived by his son, Monty (Nina) Mallas; daughter, Bonnie (Nicholas) Queses all of Weirton; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Mallas of Dayton, OH, Jason Mallas, Erica (Jason) Bennett all of Weirton; Monica (David) Will of Moundsville, WV; great grandchildren, Christian, Joshua and Kameryn Mallas, Josafina and Alayna Bennett, Makaela and the approaching birth of Seth Nicholas Will. He is also survived by his sisters, Julia Lancaster, Naomi (Kessler) Cole, and brother Mehamet (Eileen) Mallas, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received 6-8 PM Sunday and 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at the Greco–Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be held 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM Tuesday at the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Dana Snodgrass, Reverend Larry Barkley, and Pastor David Dillie (Nephew) officiating. Interment will follow at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Military Graveside Services conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Weirton First Church of the Nazarene, 475 Colliers Way, Weirton, WV 26062.
