Myra Louise Kuhn Ramsey, 71, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, died Thursday, September 2, 2010, at Richard Murphy Hospice House in Hammond.
Born on September 9, 1938, in Tylertown, Mississippi, Mrs. Ramsey is preceded in death by her loving husband, Loyd W. Ramsey, Sr., and her daughter, Sherrie Lynn Ramsey. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Eton Percy Kuhn and Mildred Louise McDaniel Kuhn; sister, Edith Margaret Kuhn White and her brother, Robert “Bobby” Lester Kuhn.
Myra Ramsey was a wonderful mother, doting grandmother, devoted sister, and cherished friend to many.
She was the Worthy Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star for the State of Louisiana. She also served as the past Matron of the Broadmoor Chapter in Shreveport, Louisiana, with the OES #233 and Nova Stella #36 of Ponchatoula.
Surviving her are: her son, Loyd Wade Ramsey, Jr., and her daughter-in-law, Sandra K. Ramsey; her treasured granddaughter, Hunter Tyler Ramsey; her five brothers and sisters-in-law: Percy F. and Shirley Kuhn; Thomas and Beth Kuhn; Albert and Kathryn Kuhn; James Edward and Cheryl Kuhn; and Marion Paul and Brenda Kuhn; her sister and brother-in-law Katherine Kuhn Billings and Arthur Billings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received for visitation Friday, September 3, 2010, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St, Ponchatoula, Louisiana from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Order of the Eastern Star Service. Visitation will continue on Saturday, September 4, 2010, from 8:00 until the funeral service at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Visitation and an Eastern Star Service will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2010, at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 601 Highway 80 East, Haughton, Louisiana from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Haughton, Louisiana.
