Surrounded by loved ones, Nancy Ann (Pacilio) Stampfer passed away on
November 8, 2011 after a brief but heroic battle with cancer. Nancy
was born in Utica, New York on October 15, 1935, the beloved only child of
Vincenzo (Jim) and Philomena Morose Pacilio.
She moved from New York to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1959. This began
a new chapter in her life. She worked for quite a few years at Pan American
Airlines, travelling the world and creating life-long friendships.
From 1964-1969 she was married to Lawrence Lokmor. He had two children,
Pamela and Kevin whom she has always loved and cherished as her own.
In 1971 she married John Stampfer. Six years later she gave birth
to their son, John Vincent who was the light of her life.
She spent the next two decades working at various places as an
administrative assistant. Most notable were the many years she spent as
the CCD Coordinator at St Augustine's Parish in South San Francisco.
She loved working at and being an active member in the church.
After retiring, she remained active by becoming a volunteer at Kaiser
Hospital in SSF and Daly City.
She was also chosen to be on the SSF City Council's Housing Authority
Board, where she honorably served the city that she loved and lived in
for most of her life.
She enjoyed reading, going to the movies and most of all spending time
with family and friends. Caring, Compassion and Love, are only a few of the
words to describe the life that she led and the values she instilled in
those around her.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Lawrence Lokmor, and her mother-in-law,
Edith Lokmor.
She is survived by her son John Vincent Stampfer, and daughter-in-law, Ken Yen
"Sammie" Stampfer; her son, Kevin Lokmor; her daughter and son-in-law Pamela and
Larry Darty. She had seven grandchildren, Audrey Stith (Kyle), Katie Alstot
(Jimmy), Andrew Marsh, Thais Standefer (Chase), Justin Darty (Lindsey), Lauren Lokmor,
Allison Lokmor; and one great-grandson, Landon Darty.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nancy's name to one of the following:
The American Cancer Society, St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, or St. Augustine Church in
South San Francisco.
A beloved Mother, great friend & wonderful person...we Love you, we miss you, and you
will remain in our hearts forever.
