Nancy Lockridge Skillman, Beloved Mother and Friend, 89, Liberty, Missouri, passed away January 10, 2011, at her home. Memorial services will be 4:00 P.M., Saturday, January 15 at Liberty United Methodist Church, Liberty, MO. A gathering will follow the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty United Methodist Church Music Ministry, 1001 Sunset, Liberty, MO 64068.
Nancy was born January 30, 1921, in Fayette, Missouri, the middle daughter of William Grimes and Frances Elizabeth (Givens) Lockridge. She was a graduate of Central Methodist College. She worked for many years as office manager at TWA, Starlight Theater, WJC Athletic Dept. and Donly and Co. Nancy was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, PEO, ”Let’s Have Fun Club” (widows’ social group), and numerous bridge clubs. Preceding her in death was her husband, William Miles Skillman, daughter, Francie Elizabeth Skillman, son, William Miles Skillman and four sisters, Frances Harris, Donly Overfelt, Billie LaFountain and Mary Lee Robyn. Survivors include daughter, Susan Skillman, Liberty, MO, son John Skillman and his wife Libby, Liberty, MO, granddaughter, Catherine Elizabeth Skillman, two grandsons, John Miles Skillman and Jacob Grant Skillman, and Nancy’s beloved companion, Alfie.
