Lyons Falls - Nancy S. (Van Buskirk) Farr, 67, of Rumble Road passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Faxton - St. Luke’s Healthcare, New Hartford after a long illness. She was born in the hamlet of Denley (near Boonville) on March 21, 1943, a daughter of Walter F. and Florence Hathaway Van Buskirk. A lifelong resident of the town of Lyonsdale, she received her education at Port Leyden Central School, and on February 3, 1961 she was united in marriage with Ronald Farr at the Boonville United Methodist Church. The couple made their home on the Rumble Road. After raising her family, Nancy was employed for many years as a rip saw operator in the manufacture of bowling pins at the AMF Corp. in Lowville. She retired in 2001. She greatly enjoyed nature and the outdoors, and for several years she and her husband operated Twin Ponds Deer Farm, a deer and fox farm located at their residence. In addition to her husband of nearly 50 years, she is survived by three sons, Robert Farr and Donna Finster, and Forest and Michelle Farr, all of Lyons Falls, and Ronald A. and Adrian Farr of MS; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Lallier of Denley and Dorothy Weber of OH. She was predeceased by a grandson, David Finster in 2003, two brothers, Ralph and Edward, and a sister, Frances Fox. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons Falls, where Pastor Peter Egnew will officiate. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society Memorial Processing Center, 6725 Lyons St. PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057-0007.
