Monette– Naomi Catherine Harrell Wallace passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 at St. Bernards Medical Center.

She was born October 13, 1922 in Monette to the late Joseph Eli and Verna Vaughn Harrell. She was a homemaker and active member of the Monette First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Naomi loved her Lord, her family, her church and her flowers and plants. She enjoyed sewing and making her own clothes and hats, which she won many sewing contests on the local, county and state level. She also enjoyed playing Scrabble, competing in tournaments throughout the United States.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Connie and Bill Heidelberger of Marvell and Rodney and Karen Sipes of Topeka, Kansas; three grandchildren and their spouses, Wes and Tammy Heidelberger, Carrie and Eric Palmer and Leslie and Jason Revils; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death her husband, R. C. “Pat” Wallace; a brother, Jethro Harrell and a sister, Frankie DeFries.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 11.00 a.m. at the Monette First Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty Bird officiating under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 8, 2011 from 6.00 until 8.00 p.m. at the Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.

Lasting memorials may be sent to the Monette First Baptist Church, Kohn Library in Monette or the Macey Cemetery Fund.
