Bubba was born in a Christian home to Jessie and Edna Marshall. He was the youngest of six children, all of whom preceded his demise. Bubba and his family's denomination was to the Alpha Seventh Day Adventist Church. As a young man, bubba maintained several jobs to support his family and retired after 32 years as a "Sky Cap" for Braniff Airlines. Bubba married Dorothy Mae Marshall Ellison and from this union four children were born, Nathaniel Marshall, Jr., Freddie Lee Marshall, Virginia Marshall (Brown), and Thomas Jefferson Marshall, all of whom also preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
