Neal D. Mix, 69, passed away November 1, 2009, following a prolonged illness. Neal was born February 29, 1940 in Grand Rapids, MN to Guy and Pearl Mix. When he was only 17, he enlisted in the US Navy where he completed his education. After an honorable discharge he worked for NCR for over a decade. In his 30's, Neal started a successful computer business in Wausau, WI, then went on to purchase and operate a local ski resort for 14 years. In 2001, Neal moved his entire family to Fort Collins, CO to be closer to the beautiful Rocky Mountains where he could enjoy his passion for skiing. While in Colorado he continued to work and develop his own business until his health began to fail. Neal is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Ann; two daughters, Tamara (Robert) Pusheck, and Tracy (Ronald) Rouse; seven grandchildren, Katrina Mix, Ann Pusheck, Thomas Pusheck, Cooper Schira Mix, Blake Rouse, Ryann Rouse, and Emerson Rouse; and one great-granddaughter, Brianna Mix. Neal was preceded in death by his parents; brother; sister; and daughter, Barbara. A Celebration of Neal's life will be held 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday, November 6, at Allnutt Drake Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 West Drake Road, Fort Collins, CO 80526. A second Celebration of Neal's life will be held at Jefferson Street Inn, 201 Jefferson Street, Wausau, WI on Friday, November 13 from 6-9 p.m.
