Uncle Neil, Although stubborn in your old fashion ways you will be truly missed. You left this world with great heart and spirit that makes any Burkhart feel proud to be one. I am sure you are continuing your legacy even in the afterlife. Dont forget the chalk is free and you still owe me a game of pool when my time comes. Your presence will be missed and I am sure your soul is happy to be free again.

Neil was my brother and we where always very close in spirit. Even though we did not spend alot of time together, he always knew I was there for him all his life. I am glad that many of his children remember the good in him and got to know him better as they became adults and learned to love him, even though he may have had a few faults, like everyone. I was encouraged by the scriptural message of the resurrection. Surely our loving Father did not intend on leaving mankind in the grave, because his word promises the resurrection. (Acts twenty-four and verse fifteen) May you find comfort in knowing that the resurrection will bring all those in the grave back to life and reunite them with their dear loved ones.

Just wanted to let you know that I was proud to be a part of Neil's life as a sister-in-law and a class mate both Jr and Sr years. Was glad to see him at the reunion of 2009.
