Vernon- Nellie Katherine Frink Thompson, 88, of Huckle Hill Road, died peacefully Thursday morning, June 30, 2011 at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital following a period of declining health. Mrs. Thompson was born in Barnard, Vermont on February 3, 1923, the daughter of Lyle and Katherine (Cowdry) Frink. She was raised in Barnard and Westminster West where she attended public schools. For many years she had been employed for Whitney-Blake Manufacturing in Bellows Falls. She latter moved to Crestview, Florida from 1989 to 2005 and while a resident in Florida she had worked for the Okaloosa County School Department where she retired from in 1996. She was a member of the Campden Assembly of God Church in Laurel Hill, Florida and more recently had attended Pioneer Baptist Church in Chesterfield. Of her leisure time activities, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, travel and time shared with her family. Mrs. Thompson was also an avid reader. She was first married to Ray Miller who predeceased her. She later married William Thompson who is also deceased. Survivors include, one son, R. Steven Miller and wife Bonnie of Daphne, Alabama, one daughter, Dorothy Bregon and husband Joseph of Vernon, one brother, Lyle Frink of Vernon, six sisters, Ruth Chickering, Eleanor Babbit and Dottie Rose Turner all of Putney, Bertha Tracey of Brookline, Gladys Trombley of Castalia, North Carolina and Marion Cushman of Chester. Additionally she leaves five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She was predeceased by two sisters, Alice Rogers and Esther Dunham and a brother William Frink. Graveside committal services will be conducted Saturday, July 16th at 10:00 A.M. in Westminster West Cemetery with Pastor Fred Laughman of Pioneer Baptist Church in Chesterfield officiating.
