Nemesio "Rudy" Lacuesta, Sr., 89, of the 4000 block of Windsor Gate Place, Virginia Beach, VA, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer Saturday, December 24, 2011, in his Virginia Beach home. Rudy was a retired Chief of 25 years in the US Navy. He enjoyed gardening and had a passion for cooking. He will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. Rudy is survived by his wife of 58 years, Tina Lacuesta; his children, Diana K. Lacuesta, Marta Lynn Carney and husband David, Amanda Lynn Weber, Nemesio Lacuesta, Jr., Christopher Allen Lacuesta, and John Frederick Lacuesta and wife Kristi; his grandchildren, Christian, Jessica and Michael Carney, Sondra Wilson and husband Sabastian; and great-grandchildren, Michael, Jacob and Camden. A graveside service for family and friends will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel Wednesday night from 6 to 9 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
