Beasley; two sisters, Vera Sorrells and Janice Calvert; her parents; and wonderful stepmother, Gladys. She is survived by three sisters, Ann Dozier, Patricia Ballance and Annita Cardwell; two children, William McKeel (and wife Kathy), and Donna Curtis (and husband Tony); nine grandchildren: Christopher McKeel (and wife Chava), Dana Ruiz (and husband JB), Michelle Kohler (and husband Micah), Michael McKeel, Martha McKeel, Matthew McKeel, Moriah McKeel, Richard Curtis (and wife Cynthia) and Michael Curtis (and wife Shanti); and nine great-grandchildren. Myrl was the manager at Sears Service Department on Witchduck Road for many years until she retired. She was a member of Lynnhaven United Methodist Church for over 40 years, serving the Lord in many capacities. She was active in the Kings Grant Garden Club, OBG Retirement Group, Canasta and Bridge Card Groups and enjoyed traveling with her friends. She was an avid reader and knew everyone at the Virginia Beach Library. Those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by Myrl were truly blessed to have shared a life with such a beautiful person. She was truly remarkable. Her neighbors will miss seeing her take her daily walks down Kings Grant Road and working in her yard each day. Memorial service will be held at Lynnhaven United Methodist at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2012, with a graveside service at Rosewood Memorial Park. Family visitation will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 3600 Virginia Beach Blvd, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2012. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests food or monetary contributions be made to the Food Closet at the Lynnhaven United Methodist Church, Little Neck Road or the American Cancer Society, in Myrl's name.
