Nick Bisignano

Nicholas Gray Bisignano died in an automobile accident in the early hours of Monday, December 27, 2004 in Des Moines. He is seventeen years old.

Born on October 1, 1987, Nick is a junior at Lincoln High School in Des Moines. An ardent athlete, Nick was elected by his teammates to be captain of Lincoln's football team for the 2005 season.

Throughout his life, Nick reveled in his passion for sports and teamwork. Ever the practical joker, Nick's ability to lift the mood of any room he entered will long be remembered. His ever-present smile and mischievous way will always be cherished by those who know him.

Nick is the son of Tony and Kim Bisignano and is survived by his sisters, Emily and Allison; grandparents, Al and Rose Bisignano and Dr. George and Dorothy Caudill, all of Des Moines. Also surviving Nick are a cadre of cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family and an extraordinary group of friends who will dearly miss their good pal ""Biz.""

A service for Nick's friends will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lincoln High School. The family will receive visitors from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Brooks Funeral Care-Tonini Chapel, 2135 SW Ninth. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 31 at St. Anthony's Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Nick Bisignano Fund through Wells Fargo Bank.

The family asks that to honor Nick's memory, his friends will remember the zeal and unfettered confidence with which Nick lived his life, and carry that memory with them always. The family also asks that parents hold dear the hope and optimism that their own children represent and never forget that each moment you spend with your child is precious and should never be taken for granted.
