Mrs. Nina Jean English, age 80, of Benton, KY, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012, at 8:30 p.m. at Lakeway Nursing and Rehabilitation in Benton, KY. Born February 1, 1932 in Marshall Co., KY., she began her work career for Magnavox in Paducah, KY., she also worked as a Nurses Aid at the Murray Calloway Co. Hospital and was retired from Ashby Corporation where she worked as a chair maker. She was also the co-owner of James T. English Trucking. She was a member of Church Grove United Methodist Church in Benton.
She was the daughter of the late Louis Adolphus Bradley and the late Cora Cleo (Peck) Bradley.
She is survived by, one daughter, Linda Carol Riley of Benton, KY., three grandchildren, Chad Riley and wife Mantha of Benton, KY., Angie Norwood and husband Adam of Benton, KY., Todd Riley and wife Laura of Benton, KY., two great-grandchildren, Savannah Norwood of Benton, KY., Shelbie Riley of Benton, KY., a daughter-in-law, Beverly English of Benton, KY., one brother, Owen Bradley and wife Clarise of Calvert City, KY., one sister-in-law, Lucille Bradley of Reidland, KY., one Aunt, Lena Mae Tucker of Benton, KY. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband and business partner of 55 years: James T. English, one son, James Douglas "Doug" English, son-in-law, Charlie Riley, Jr., 2 brothers, Hester Bradley and Joe Ted Bradley, and 3 sisters, Ozella Bradley, Stella Rudolph and Irene Lofton.
Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY.
Funeral service will be held Monday, June 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton.
Tommy White and Rev. Susan Atkinson will officiate.
Interment will follow at Jackson-Starks Cemetery, Benton, KY.
Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY.
