Nina M. Boy , 96, of White Township, NJ formerly of Hackettstown and St. Petersburg, FL, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the home of her daughter surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Port Morris, NJ to Joseph and Caroline (Hurd) Wilson, one of seven children. She was the matriarch of her extended family, always interested in their comings and goings. Nina lived in Paragon Village in Hackettstown, NJ for the past 5 years after being in St. Petersburg FL for 28 years. Her tenacity resulted in the purchase of a mobile home community in FL, by the residents, to prevent takeover by developers. She spearheaded various activities at Melody Gardens such as crafts, line dancing, dominoes, cards etc. Her love of life and curiosity for learning inspired others. She also started a group of domino players while at Paragon. Walking and eating well were her secret weapons for longevity. She was loved by all and will be missed by many. Mrs. Boy retired from Picatinny Arsenal in 1977, previously working at Swiss Knitting Mill in Dover, NJ for many years. She is survived by three children; Carolyn Gustin Weaver (Thomas) of Rockaway Twp, Beverly Gustin Lommatzsch (Ronald) of Belvidere, Charles Gustin, Jr (Suzanne) of Dover; eight grandchildren, Carol Downs, Judi Amore, Thomas Weaver Jr., Lori Nifenecker, James Lommatzsch, Rebecca Gliganic, Neil and Robyn Gustin; eleven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Boy is also survived by several step-children and their families who loved her dearly. Mrs. Boy was predeceased by her two husbands, Fred Boy in 1985, Charles Gustin, Sr. in 1971 and son, Clifford Gustin in 2008. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, Habitat for Humanity or a charity of ones choice. This Online Memorial has been created to commemorate the life of Nina Boy. You are invited to add a Tribute in her memory. Please click "Sign Guestbook" below to add your own memories, reflections, thoughts or condolences.
