Norbert "Nub" Bellis, 87, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Miller's Merry Manor. Born in Monroeville, Norbert worked as a A.O.D. vessel operator with Slater Steel for 40 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of VFW #857, American Legion #420. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and taking care of his yard. Norbert and Ruth had two children; son, Steven (Vertus) Bellis of Web City, MO, daughter, Rosalie A. (Charles) Ercolino of Onsted, MI, brothers, Ervin Bellis of Woodburn, Frederick Bellis of Waynedale, sisters, Delores Clevenger of Woodburn, Mary Ann Ternet of Monroeville, Catherine Lothamer of Woodburn, 7 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. Norbert was preceded in death by parents, Frederick and Margarite Bellis, brothers, Donald, Joseph, Paul, Robert Bellis, and sister Teresa. Service is 2 pm, Friday, June 15, 2012 at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road with calling from 10 am till the service. Additional calling will be at the funeral home Thursday, June 14, 2012 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
