Norma Ann Wynkoop, 82, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011, from cancer. She was the daughter of the late Rear Admiral Thomas P. Wynkoop and Mary Ransom O'Hern Wynkoop; and the sister of the late Commander Thomas E. Wynkoop and Mary La Roche. Norma was a devout Catholic. She was born in Manila, Philippines, where her father was stationed. Norma was appreciated for her wonderful sense of humor. She was delighted to travel around the world and meet friends. She was interested in the activities of great niece, Emma P. Wynkoop, and nephews, Jack Wynkoop, Riley Wynkoop and Thomas Wynkoop in Virginia Beach, VA. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Emma B. Wynkoop; nephews, Thomas E. Wynkoop and wife Amy of Baltimore, MD, Stephen M. Wynkoop and wife Lisa, Jonathan C. Wynkoop and wife Lisa of Virginia Beach, VA; a host of nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank all of the staff of Marion Manor for their care, kindness and support to our dear Aunt Norma. Burial will take place in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
