Norma B. Bringle

Norma Bernice Berntson, the daughter of Nels and Emma (Amundson) Berntson, was born July 8, 1921, in Jackson County, Wisconsin. She passed away Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 85.

She received her education in the Taylor, Wisconsin schools. Norma was employed by the Civil Service Commission from 1940 through 1945. On February 24, 1945, she was united in marriage to Claire Bringle in Taylor. The couple made their home in Estherville and owned and operated Bringle Insurance Agency for many years. Later they sold the business to John Parsons and Norma continued to work at John Parsons Insurance Agency for a few years. She was also Site Manager for the Dinner Date Program in Estherville. In her leisure time she enjoyed music, embroidering and her flower garden. In these last few years Norma has made her home at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.

She was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church where she participated in the church circle. Norma was also a member of Wa Tan Ye Sorority and VFW Post 3388 Auxiliary in Estherville.

Left to cherish Norma's memory are her children, Charles R. Bringle and his wife, Shannan of Iowa City, Iowa; Bruce Bringle and his wife, Jennifer of Madelia, Minnesota; and four grandchildren, Cory, Cassidy, Rachel and Jacob.

Preceding Norma in death were her husband; parents and one sister, Almira Johnson.
