Norman A. Kirk, 87, of Stittville passed away September 8, 2013 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. He was born December 1, 1925 in Rome, NY, the son of the late Andrew and Anna Kirk. He received his education in Rome and Syracuse, NY. He was a World War II Veteran serving with the US Navy. On January 25, 1958 he married Genevieve Szewczyk in Utica. Genevieve passed away on January 16, 1982. Norman worked at Rome Air Development Center retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Leo's and St. Ann's Church in Holland Patent. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law Norman and Jane Kirk of Montgomery, NY, David and Terry Kirk of Olean, NY, seven grandchildren Nicholas, Kevin and Grace of Montgomery, NY and Alyssa, Thomas, Andrew and Christopher of Olean, NY, a sister Mary Ann Patterson; and many devoted nieces and nephews. The funeral will be on Thursday 9:00 a.m. at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Whitesboro and 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Leo and St. Ann , Elm Street, Holland Patent. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Rome. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 4-7 pm. In memory of Norman, those who wish may make donations to the Church of St. Leo and St. Ann, PO Box 185, Holland Patent, NY 13354.
