Norman Eugene Gerardot , 52, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Parkview Memorial Hospital. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, Norman was a medical equipment technician with Advacare. Known as "Stormin Norman", he never met a stranger and was a mentor and father figure to many. He was passionate about coaching baseball and basketball, enjoyed singing in the church choir and had been an usher at Notre Dame. He was a loving husband, father, son, grand father and brother. Surviving are his wife, Kim, sons, Jeremy (Alison) and Nick, grandchildren, Cole and Claire, parents Norman and Carol, siblings, Larry (Judy), Ron (Sue), Maureen (Bill) McAfee, Pam Owens, Laura (Tom) Hattery, Rene (Jeff) Moring, Carla (Iftakar) Ali and Cheryl (Scott) Marchant. Norman was preceded in death by his brother Kevin. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Monday at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 1515 Barhold Street, with Fr. Joseph Gaughan officiating, calling 1 hour prior. Calling also 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, with a vigil at 7:30 p.m. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
