Olive R. Wehrle Hemmings, 69, of Blount, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at her home.

She was born in Frame on May 14, 1943, and was a daughter of the late Rome and Nancy Young Canterbury. Olive was also preceded in death by husband, Roy Blaine Wehrle Sr.; brothers, Arbon, Louie, Bob, Walt and Dick; sister, Ruby; and five great-grandchildren.

Olive was a former cashier at Cordell's Pennzoil and was a Christian.

She is survived by son, Roy B. (Barb) Wehrle Jr. of Winifrede; daughters, Delilah (Mark) Parsons of Charleston, Rhonda (Larry) Carrow of Blount, and Melissa (Danny) Kidd of St. Albans; brothers, Romie (Yolanda) Canterbury of Campbells Creek, Ben (Ruby) Canterbury of Cottageville, Pete (Jo) Canterbury of Elkview, Roy (Gaye) Canterbury of Tennessee, and Fred (Jane) Canterbury of Cottageville; sisters, Doris (Paul) Fitzpatrick of Cottageville, Connie Pauley and Joyce Cole, both of Ohio; Frankie Yeatman of Nitro, and Thelma Dougherty of Georgia; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2012, at Perryville Baptist Church, Blount, with Pastor Curtis Mack officiating.

The family would like to send a very special thank you to Olive's brother, Fred Canterbury, whose love for his sister allowed him to donate his kidney.
Uncle Fred, you will always have our love and gratitude for this unselfish and loving gesture.

The family would like also to send a special thank you to Debbie Steffick, her home health nurse.
