Opal Frances Crabtree Strother, age 82, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013 in Mena.

She was born August 27, 1931 in DeQueen, Arkansas to the late Bennie Crabtree and the late Viola Williams Crabtree. She was united in marriage to L.D. "Elgie" Strother. She was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith. Opal loved spending time in her garden, but most of all she loved God and her family, and particularly loved spending time with her grandbabies. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by:

Sons: Eddie Strother and wife Colleen
JB Strother and wife Gayle
Freddie Strother and wife Beverly
Ronnie Strother and wife Liz
Jerry Strother and wife Kathy

Daughters: Janice Evans and husband David
Lou Henry and husband Billy
Carolyn Marquardt and husband Mike
Jolena Davis and husband Josh

Grandchildren: Tim, Stacy, Emmalena, Jacob, Adam, Matt, Eve, Amanda, Andrea, Tiffany,
Elgie "Razzy", Cindy, LeAnn "Dinky", Lisa, Linda, and Billie Jo

37 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends too great to mention.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Viola Crabtree, her husband, Elgie Strother, a sister, Marie Crabtree, 3 brothers, Bill, Leroy and Melvin Crabtree, and an infant son and an infant daughter.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Beasley-Wood Chapel with Brother Stacy Strother officiating. Interment follows in Concord Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

Pallbearers are Jacob Strother, Adam Strother, Matt Strother, Timmy Strother, Elgie (Razzy) Evans, Nathan Cole, Trevor Strother, and Tyler Kincaid.
