Opal Maxine Newcomb HAGLUND

Opal passed away on April 24, 2009 in Seattle, WA with her family at her side at age 86. She was born September 19, 1922 in Orofino, NE to Ernest and Anna Newcomb.

Opal worked most of her life in the restaurant industry. She managed the Davenport Hotel Coffee Shop in Spokane WA in the early 1950’s. She then moved to Seattle and met her future husband Ivar Haglund. She traveled extensively with Hawaii being her favorite destination.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Stanley and Jack Newcomb, sister Helen Marie Newcomb and nieces Mary Donna Aberasturi and Patti Ryan.

Opal is survived by her sisters Agnes Newcomb Lambert and husband John of West Richland WA, Donna Newcomb Aberasturi of Spokane WA, sister-in-law Nadine Newcomb of Port Townsend WA, Niece Rhonda Pederson of Sumner WA, Nephews Garrett Meador and family of Richland WA, Ramon Aberasturi and family of Rancho Cordova CA, Paul Newcomb of Houston TX, Chris Newcomb and family of Port Orange FL, Todd Newcomb of La Quinta CA.
