Pamela Ann Hackett, age 64, of 1950 Ridgedale Road, South Bend, Indiana, formerly of Plymouth, Indiana, passed away at 10:07 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center in South Bend. Pam was born on September 5, 1946, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to John and Doris (Shoemaker) Mortimore, Jr. Pam was a dispatch operator for the 3T Trucking Company in Etna Green, Indiana. She enjoyed crafting projects, cooking, and baking. Pam was an active member of the Walnut Church of the Brethren where she sang in the choir. She was a graduate of Mishawaka High School in the Class of 1964. Pam married Bill Smith and they were blessed with their daughter, Kelly Smith Miller. Pam later married Paul Roger Hackett in 1979. They moved to California, where they lived for 25 years, before returning to the Plymouth area. Pam will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Their prayer for her, is that she may, "fly with the angels". Pam is survived by her daughter, Kelly Smith Miller of Goshen, Indiana; her sister, Angelia Mortimore Huffman of Granger, Indiana; her brothers, John (Cherie) Mortimore, III of Mishawaka, Scott (Aislinn) Mortimore of Houston, Texas; her goddaughter, Amanda Bishop Winrotte of Plymouth; her step-mother, Judith Mortimore of Mishawaka; her brother-in-law, Ron S. (Elaine) Hackett of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and her sister-in-law, Phyllis J. Conley of Whittier, California. Pam was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Roger.
