Pamela Marie Nyman, age 58, of Dassel, died Sunday, September 8, 2013, at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel with the Rev. Steven Olson officiating. The interment will be held at the Lake Arvilla Cemetery following the service.

A visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel. There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service on Friday morning at the church.

Pamela Marie (Johnson) Nyman, the daughter of Harold & Grace (Nelson) Johnson, was born on November 9, 1954, in Litchfield, Minnesota. She grew up in the Dassel area and graduated from the Dassel High School's last graduating class in 1972. Pamela was a lifetime member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church, being baptized, confirmed, as well as married there.

On September 29, 1973, Pamela was united in marriage to Galen Nyman. Together they made their home in the Dassel area. She was employed as a bookkeeper for area businesses and worked for the Dassel-Cokato School District for 15 years prior to her retirement in 2008.

Pam loved her family dearly and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. She followed the local sports teams closely, including the Chargers, and could often be found watching the Twins, Vikings, and Gophers. She loved baking, cooking, flowers, and watching the birds outside her home. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed arts and crafts.

Pam is survived by her husband, Galen of Dassel, children, Ben Nyman of Kingston, Kristi (Peter) Burkstrand of St. Cloud, three grandchildren, Henry, Molly, and Jillian Burkstrand, four siblings, Sandra Freeman of Dassel, Craig (Jean) Johnson of Germantown, WI, Linda (Steve) Rauner of Circle Pines, and Dawn (Mark) Nyquist of Corcoran. Further survived by many dear nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as a brother-in-law, Clifford Freeman.
