Patria Artuz Kintanar, 88, passed away Monday, February 13, 2012. Born in Tapaz, Capiz, Panay Island, The Phillipines, Patria worked 14 years at the Allen County Library and retired from the Allen County Court House. She had a drive to succeed and excel and imparted that to all of her family and was very proud of her son being a doctor. Surviving are her son, Thomas (Erin) Kintanar M.D. of Leo, grandchildren, Taryn, Elizabeth, Christian, Kensington and Kendall, sisters, Ninfa Leong of Chicago, Ruby Artuz and Marina Artuz, brothers, Alex Artuz, Arnulpo Artuz and Renato Artuz all of The Phillipines. Patria was preceded in death by husband, Aniceto Kintanar. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Road with Msgr. John M. Kuzmich officiating, calling 1 hour prior to Mass. Calling also 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road.
