Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia A. Pruitt, 62, a resident of Bettendorf will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4097 – 18th Street, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be Monday, December 6, 2010, at the Halligan-McCabe – DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport. The visitation will begin Monday with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. The family will greet friends following the prayers until 7:00 p.m.
There will be additional visitation Tuesday at church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.
Pat died suddenly and unexpectedly Friday, December 3, 2010 at her residence in Bettendorf.
Patricia Ann Reardon was born November 4, 1948 in Kansas City, Kansas a daughter of Francis M. and Martha M. (Camerlink) Reardon. She was united in marriage to James “Don” Pruitt, Jr. on June 13, 1970 in Kansas City. They were blessed to have celebrated over forty years of marriage.
She has been employed for the past fifteen years as the office manager for Quad City Golf Cars, Bettendorf. In earlier years Pat had offered home daycare to numerous Bettendorf area children. This was truly a passion and labor of love; it gave her the opportunity to share her kindness and gentle loving guidance to kids.
She was a member of St. John Vianney Church, and had been a volunteer for the parish helping with meals or baking. Pat was a very generous women, she would always put others before herself and lived for her family. Her love for her family, comforting words, and daily actions will be what her family will forever cherish.
Pat was also a talented seamstress, and a phenomenal cook and baker. She was known for her baking talents and made many cakes and specialty treats for family and friends.
Memorials to honor her can be made in her name to University of Iowa Children’s Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.
Survivors include her loving husband, Don, Bettendorf; sons and daughters-in-law, Ryan and Kerry Pruitt; Adam and Kristin Pruitt; and Mathew and Sarah Pruitt, all of Bettendorf; her beloved grandchildren, Morgan, Andrew, Camryn, Grayer, Olive, Grace and Parker; a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Melody Reardon, Boonville, Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
