Brattleboro- Patricia Ann Geer, 71, of Vernon died peacefully early Monday morning, July 4, 2011 at the home of her sister, Verna Haskins, of Regina Vista Road. Mrs. Geer was born in Brattleboro on November 22, 1939 the daughter of Robert and Verna (Struthers) Turner. She was raised and educated in East Dummerston and Brattleboro graduating from Brattleboro Union High School, Class of 1957. A former resident of Hartland, she had worked for Dartmouth Printing in Hanover. Locally, Mrs. Geer had been employed at River Valley Credit Union, Chromerics and at the Book Press. Of her pastimes and interests she enjoyed knitting, gardening, flowers and time shared with her family especially her grandchildren. On July 18, 1963 in Putney she was married to John R. Geer, Sr. Her husband of 45 years predeceased her on March 30, 2009. Survivors include one son, John R. Geer, Jr. and wife Karen of Anchorage, Alaska, three daughters, Kimberlee Geer-Curtiss and husband Sumner of Vernon, Michaelynn (Geer) Bouthillier and husband David of Hartford and Tina J. (Geer) Laflam and partner Richard Petrie of Guilford, two sisters, Verna "Sug" Haskins and husband Sam of Brattleboro, and Bonnie M. Carey of Bellows Falls, nine grandchildren, David and Robert Geer, Shannon, Tiffany and Travis Laflam, Hannah and Jakob Curtiss, and Joshua and Bethany Bouthillier, and one great granddaughter Oriana Geer. Additionally she leaves many nieces and nephews. Graveside committal services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. in the family lot in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery with Rev. Richard O'Donnell, pastor of Saint Michael's Catholic Church officiating. There are no calling hours at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Geer's name may be made to the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, 17 Belmont Avenue, Brattleboro, VT 05301.
