Patricia "Patty" Cooper, 61, of Springfield, formerly of Beardstown, died at 6:58 a.m. on November 28, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center. Patty was born September 24, 1950, the daughter of Perry R. and Mary E. Miller Fox. She married Jerry Cooper on February 4, 1971 in Beardstown. Patty received her Associate's Degree in Business at Glendale Community College in Phoenix, AZ. She retired from the Cass County Health Department after 15 years, where she oversaw the WIC program and was secretary to Family Services. She was a great seamstress, enjoyed collecting various items, i.e., beanie babies, porcelain flowers and treasure boxes, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bobby Miller and Mike Fox. She is survived by her husband, Jerry of Springfield; two daughters, Christina (Jarrod) Haney of Bloomington and Mindy (Robert) Hay of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Brock, Savanah, Davis, Samantha, Lillian, Isaiah, and Elizabeth; sister, Susan (John) Moseley of Sherman; and a few nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
