Patricia L. Smith, 76, died Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Pleasant Lake Villa in Parma, Ohio (formerly of Jefferson, Ohio) surrounded by her family after a long illness. Born in Sharpsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Barry and Wilma Barry.
Patricia, a graduate of the Newcastle School of Nursing, spent most of her life raising her five children. Later, she returned to nursing at Stella Maris in Cleveland and dedicated her life to helping others.
She loved to travel to Myrtle Beach and the Bahamas and spend time with her family. At Pleasant Lake Villa she came to love art. She placed 1st and 3rd place for her paintings at the 2011 Cuyahoga County Fair. Her paintings are on display throughout the Pleasant Lake Villa facility. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by; Tom Smith (Holly) of Greenville, South Carolina and their children Hayley, Emily and Kendall; Dick Smith (Connie) of Canton, Michigan and daughter Angela; Grace Haught (Joe) of Louisville, Ohio and their children Brittany, Shana and Kyle; Wilma Salvatierra (John) of Altadena, California and their children Isabella and Mary Grace.
She was predeceased by her sons John B. Smith and Bernard Smith.
Family will hold a private memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to support the Art Department at Pleasant Lake Villa, 7260 Ridge Road, Parma, OH 44129.
