Patricia A. (Slack) Vaitkus, 69, of Sedillo/Tijeras NM, died November 14, 2009. Born in Milton Massachusetts, she attended Fontbonne Academy, St Elizabeth School of Nursing, and Boston College. She served as a nurse at Presbyterian Hospital for 24 years, retiring in 2002. She volunteered at Birthright and was a member of the Blue Army. She was a long time member of Holy Child Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband Ged Vaitkus, sister Evelyn Krenske of Springtown, TX, brother Steve Slack of Albuquerque, daughters Suzanne Rehmeier and husband Dennis, Kristin Vaitkus Tuttle and husband Jeff, Katerina Vaitkus, sons Daniel and Jennifer Vaitkus and Brian and Felicia Vaitkus, 11 grandchildren and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations to Birthright, 3228 Candelaria Road NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107, are appreciated. There will be a Rosary recited at French Mortuary ~ Lomas Chapel 10500 Lomas Blvd NE on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Child Parish in Tijeras, NM on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will takes place at a later date.
