Patsie M. Rumsey, 73, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 in Fort Wayne. Born in Portland, IN, Patsie worked as an executive secretary with Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation and other city departments for 23 years, retiring in 2002. Patsie also worked for Delagrange Builders and Bowmar for many years. She volunteered at the Fort Wayne Community Center and the Botanical Gardens. She was also a big supporter of the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo and various Fort Wayne Charities. Surviving are her nephew, Gary Hilgeman of Fletcher, North Carolina, niece Tamara Whalen of Blacklick, OH, brother in law, Norman Hilgeman of Coldwater, MI, many great nieces and nephews, special friends, Gerald Bishop, Bonnie Rose and Sarah and Mitchell Fischer. Patsie was preceeded in death by her sister Bettie J. Hilgeman. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm with a reception following at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home 1140 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Memorials may be made to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo.
