Paul passed in the loving arms of our lord on Monday, October 24, 2011. He was born in Van Nuys, Ca. and grew up in Oxnard. He attended Rio Mesa High School, graduating with honors, in 1977. He started his college education at Ventura College and transferred to the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1980. He successfully earned his bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in History in 1982, in which he honorably made the dean's list at both college and university. He worked as an accountant in the medical field for over thirty years. Paul was a joyous and delightful conversationalist. He was a walking National Geographic magazine without setting foot in another country. He had an inspiration to see the world and explore his family roots. His passions include family tree research, boxing, fine cigars, fossils, art, fishing, marine life, camping, barbeques, and especially his mother's five star meals including beans with meat and chile. We shared many laughs, jokes, past time stories, fishing trips, and family meals that will always be remembered. He was a caring loving son, brother, uncle, godfather, friend and a teacher. He became impassioned with learning all he could about his Catholic faith and getting closer to God. He is survived by his parents Benito and Helen Yepez; his brother Ben Yepez Jr. wife Edna, nephew Bobby Yepez, wife Teri Lynn, nieces Renee Yepez-Camilon, husband Chris, Diana Yepez, Katie Yepez, and Colleen Yepez. Great niece and nephews Lilliana and Isaiah Yepez, Oliver Camilon, Max and Mateo Yepez-Scott; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Vigil Service will be held at 9:30 am on Thursday, November 10th at Santa Clara Church 323 South E Street, Oxnard, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Burial will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery 2370 North H Street, Oxnard.
