Paul Masi, age 84, peacefully passed away in his home in the Ventura Keys on Saturday, March 26, after a long battle with cancer. Paul was born in his parent's home in Los Angeles on February 15, 1927. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1945.

Paul began his career in the sheet metal industry at the age of 15, and in 1959 he became a business agent for the Sheet Metal Worker's Local Union 108. In July 1972, he became an International Organizer, a position he held until his retirement in 1988.

He is survived by Camille, his loving wife of 61 years; his son Paul Masi of Westlake; his daughter Marlene Masi Schuberg and her husband Denny of Camarillo; his granddaughters Bridget, Laura and Teresa Schuberg; Kristen Schuberg Fry and her husband Joseph.
He is also survived by his brothers Angelo and George Masi and sister Rose Cogorno.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ventura, with a burial to follow at Santa Clara Cemetary in Oxnard.

Paul's family would like to thank all of his wonderful neighbors, friends and the many doctors and nurses at Community Memorial Hospital who so lovingly cared for him over the past three years.

It is requested that in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church at 3175 Telegraph Rd. Ventura, CA 93003.

Paul was a great guy!
I still remember when Paul went into the Navy, he was slight in build, but boy when he came out, he was so developed in presence and stature.
I looked forward to seeing him every year at St. Joseph's Table. My wonderful daughter had a chance to meet and talk with Paul and Camelle. What a lovely couple!
We aprceite all the hard work he did getting the St. Joseph Table together, he will be sorely missed.

They say each person we meet leaves footprints on your heart. I met Paul and his beautiful wife once while they were visiting the Johnsons. Mrs. Masi was one of the sweetest people I have ever met, and Paul kept me laughing. I felt immediately as if I had known them all my life, and Paul had a way about him that made you feel loved. I only met him once, but the footprint he left was enormous. I shall miss him.

This is hard time for everyone. Please tell the family that Garrett, Cindy, and The little Italian Love him very much. Also I will Miss him ALOT. He was the #1 Best Friend, Relative, and The Italian Godfather. It was great grown up with your dad he made me proud too be a Italian and a Better man. Now he will be with my DAD.
NOW HEAVEN WILL NEVER BE THE SAME with those two Italians.

If you are a friend to Marlene then you knew her dad and mom. I have known Marlene and Denny now for about 30 years! yikes!
The FIRST time I met Mr. Masi(now Linda call me Paul)was sitting at Chuckie Cheese in Ventura...Remember those days!!Well I got to sit next to him and the conversation went from of course I am Italian can't you tell? to farming to labor to kids to now how do you know Marlene?....
A first memory of many more and now Mr. Masi I know you got through those pearly gates somehow...so go Big, get everything organized and don't forget all of us on earth!

When I was just a baby, before he had children of his own, Uncle Paul used to come to the house and pick me up and take me everywhere with him, even if it was just a visit with some of his buddies. Auntie Camille tells me that he used to have my baby shoes hanging from his rear view mirror. It is no wonder we bonded in a very special way. He never failed to call me on my birthday and sing to me. Most of us will leave this world will little thought, but my Uncle Paul leaves a huge void and a legacy to all who knew him. "Smell this" Uncle Paul and God Bless You on this new journey.

Mike and I LOVED Paul Masi VERY much...I can remember very vividly meeting Paul and "BEAUTIFUL" Camille when I first met my husband Mike. We went to all the family functions and I could not wait to get there to talk and laugh with Paul. When- ever we would come together Paul would ALWAYS show us so much LOVE and always have a story that would make us LAUGH.Paul made a huge lasting impression on both Mike and I and we will remember him always with such warmth and LOVE.Paul will be truely missed, but remembered for his BUG HUGS and the LOVE he had for his FAMILY...Our LOVE to CAMILLE and his FAMILY..Jan and Mike Carbone
