Paul Howard Heimann, 89 of Palm City, Florida died January 1, 2012 after a short illness. Born March 1,1922 in Massillon, Ohio, he graduated from Massillon Washington High School Class of 1940 and received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
A WWII veteran, Paul served as US Navy Lt JG on the Bismark Sea and then on the USS Colorado in the South Pacific. He was in the huge US fleet in Tokyo Bay when the Japanese surrender ended the war.
After discharge from the navy Paul married and moved to Illinois where he started his family. Paul lived in Chicago for 4 years and in Clarendon Hills and Oak Brook for 36 years. He spent 36 years in semiconductor sales management based in Chicago. He was a member of Notre Dame Parish in Clarendon Hills.
After retirement in 1987 Paul moved to Florida and lived in Hobe Sound for 16 years, where he was a member of St. Christopher's Church, and in Palm City for 8 years where he was a member of Holy Redeemer Church. He was a Hospice volunteer for 8 years and a member of the Notre Dame Club of Stuart.
Paul loved his family, country and church. He was an avid golfer and photographer and was an enthusiastic adopter of new technologies.
Paul is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Jane (Harding), four children: Janet Kriz (David) of Downers Grove, IL, Barbara Pohlmann (Mark) of Cordova, TN, Martha Murphy(Dale) of Alpharetta, GA, Rick Heimann (Sally) of Wyncote, PA; five grandchildren: Justin Pohlmann, Allyson Kriz, Andy Heimann, Elizabeth Heimann and Marcus Heimann; and one great grandson: Jackson Pohlmann. He is also survived by two sisters, Jeanne Vass of Bethesda, MD and Carol Aman (Donald) of Massillon, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred P. and Anna Kinney Heimann and his brother, Richard Heimann.
On Friday, January 6 at 11:00 AM his life will be celebrated with a Memorial Mass at Holy Redeemer Church and a reception at Sandhill Cove. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Martin County, P.O. Box 910, 11500 S.E. Lares Ave., Hobe Sound, FL 33475 Phone: (772) 545-1255
