Paul Langmaack, 75, Bismarck, formerly of Bowman, ND, died August 29, 2012, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, September 3, at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 1004 East Highland Acres Road, Bismarck, with Rev. Donna Dohrmann officiating. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm and from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm Sunday, September 2, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 2:00 pm. Paul was born July 1, 1937, in Norcross, MN, the son of Herman and Flora (Bruse) Langmaack. He was raised and attended school in Norcross, MN, and in Hazen, ND. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1955, and was honorably discharged in 1959. In February 1960, he met the love of his life, Luella Morast and they were married on October 9, 1960. They lived in various communities in North Dakota and Montana with 37 years living in Bowman, ND. Paul and Luella recently moved to Bismarck. Paul enjoyed traveling to his grandkids plays, sports, and music events to watch them perform and cheer them on. They were his pride and joy. Paul loved to visit with people whether by his meat display at the grocery store or out flagging traffic during road construction season. Paul's laugh will be missed by all, he always had a smile on his face and a good joke he eagerly welcomed. When Paul wasn't busy working, you could find him putting on miles with Lou finding a Polka Fest. He loved to dance and visit with the many friends he made throughout the years. Another longtime love of Paul's, was to get together with friends and play pinochle. He is survived by his wife, Luella "Lou", Bismarck; his son, Troy (Linda) Langmaack, Minot; daughter, Melody (Ted) Alme, Bismarck; grandchildren, Kayleigh Alme and Kyler Alme; his brothers, Calvin, San Diego, CA, and Brian (Judy), Ontario, CA; his sisters, Myrna (Murel) Haas, Venturia, ND, and Sharon Smith, San Diego, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Langmaack and Flora Hosler; his grandparents, Henry and Christina Langmaack and Ubbe and Reca Bruse; and his sister-in-law, Jeanette Langmaack. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Alexius Home Care and Hospice, 1212 E Main Ave, Bismarck, ND, 58501.
