SHIPLEY - Paul Sidney Shipley, age 97, a resident of Albuquerque, NM for the past five years, and long-time resident of Stamford, CT and El Paso, TX, passed away Thursday morning, December 8, 2011, after a brief illness. Beloved husband, dad, and Grandad, he is survived by his son, Galen Pahl Shipley and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, also of Albuquerque; daughters Dale Lawrence and Candace Porcelli of Clearwater, FL; brother, Donald J. Shipley Sr. of Port Isabel, TX; brother-in-law, Harold G. Cassel of Kent, CT; nephew, Graham J. Powell of Darien CT; grandchildren, Pahl Charles Shipley, Nicholas S. Shipley, and Erin M. Gasser of Albuquerque, Edward P. Porcelli II and Michael P. Porcelli of Clearwater, FL; and three great-grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn H. Shipley; mother, Mildred Adelaide Shipley; father, August Clemence Shipley; mother-in-law, Florence O. Hinckley; father-in-law, Charles Galen Hinckley; and sister-in-law, Mary H. Cassel. Paul was a good man who took life's curve balls and knocked them out of the park. He and Carolyn had a great life, and lived a classic love story. They traveled the world, danced on the high seas, and grew old together. He is deeply missed, including his mischievous eyes, corny sense of humor, and unconditional love for his family. Interment has taken place at Sunset Memorial Park Centennial Urn Garden in Albuquerque.
